June 8, 2009/Myrtle Beach, S.C. - Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament is pleased to announce our Knight of the Pen and Sword scholarship award winner for 2009: Lord Adam Gore.
Gore is the salutatorian of his graduating senior class from LORIS High School. He was selected by the scholarship committee (faculty and staff) of Loris High School and was officially named at its awards ceremony on May 14. As part of this award, he will receive a $1,000 check to assist with his college expenses at Clemson University, where he plans to study Agricultural Education.
Gore and his family joined Medieval Times staff at the Myrtle Beach castle on Thursday, June 4. There he was knighted by his majesty King Philippe and recognized for his outstanding award.
The Knight of the Pen and Sword program was designed to reward students not necessarily for making good grades but for demonstrating the exemplary qualities of a leader who is valued for his honesty, courtesy and generosity.
